This page explains how International and Local Bank/Fund Transfers work when paying for tours, transfers, rentals, and travel services coordinated by D’Palawan Travel and Tours (the “Agency”).
Important classification: Bank and fund transfers are treated as electronic payments, not cash payments. While they are accepted for certain bookings, they are subject to posting delays, verification requirements, and banking cut-off times.
Because most Palawan Suppliers/Providers require cash or cash-equivalent settlement for fuel, crews, permits, port fees, meals, and logistics, cash payment remains the required and most reliable option whenever you are already in Palawan.
Philippine Peso (PHP) Requirement
All bank and fund transfers—local or international—must be sent and received in Philippine Peso (PHP).
- Transfers sent in other currencies may be converted automatically, delayed, deducted, or rejected by banks;
- Currency conversion losses, spreads, and bank deductions are outside the Agency’s control;
- Any shortfall caused by conversion or fees must be fully settled by the Client.
To avoid issues, always confirm the payable PHP amount with us before sending any transfer.
Local vs. International Transfer Timelines
- Local bank transfers (Philippines): May post same day (InstaPay) or next business day (PesoNet), depending on the channel and cut-off time.
- International bank/fund transfers: May take 3 banking days up to 2 weeks to reflect, depending on sending bank, intermediary banks, and compliance checks.
Because international transfers do not post instantly, acceptance is case-by-case and depends on the service type and lead time.
Provisional Reservation & Posting Requirement
Sending a bank or fund transfer only provisionally reserves your slot.
- Your booking is fully confirmed only after the funds are posted and verified in the Agency’s account;
- Proof of transfer alone does not guarantee confirmation;
- Payment must be posted at the very least before the start of the tour, transfer, rental, or package.
If payment has not yet posted or cannot be verified before service start time, the Agency and/or the Supplier/Provider may cancel, deny, or terminate the service, even if proof of transfer is presented.
Fees, Charges, and Deductions
All bank and transfer-related charges are imposed by banks and financial institutions, not by the Agency.
- All bank fees, intermediary fees, SWIFT charges, and transfer costs are shouldered entirely by the Client;
- These fees are separate from the tour or service price;
- All bank-related fees are strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.
Refund computation basis: If a refund is approved, it is computed based on the net amount actually received by the Agency, excluding all bank fees and deductions.
Proof of Transfer & Verification
Immediately after initiating a bank or fund transfer, please send a clear screenshot or document showing:
- Sender’s full name
- Sending bank
- Amount sent (in PHP)
- Date and time of transfer
- Transaction / reference number
Reminder: Proof of transfer helps tracking, but confirmation is issued only after actual posting and verification of funds.
Common Causes of Delay
- Bank cut-off times and non-banking days
- Weekends and Philippine or international holidays
- Intermediary bank routing (international transfers)
- Compliance or anti-fraud checks
- Currency conversion or incorrect currency selection
The Agency is not responsible for delays caused by banks, intermediary institutions, or international clearing systems.
Helpful Tips
- 1) Contact us first to confirm the exact payable amount in PHP.
- 2) Initiate international transfers well in advance—ideally 1–2 weeks before your tour date.
- 3) Confirm your bank’s cut-off times and holiday schedules.
- 4) Always select PHP as the receiving currency.
- 5) Expect intermediary bank fees for international transfers.
- 6) Send proof of transfer immediately after initiating payment.
- 7) Do not rely on “processing” or “sent” status—posting is what matters.
- 8) Avoid last-minute bank transfers for same-day or next-day tours.
- 9) Keep your transaction reference number until the service is completed.
- 10) If payment has not posted close to your tour date, be ready with an alternative payment method.
- 11) When already in Palawan, choose cash payment to avoid banking delays.
Acceptance of Terms
These Payment Guidelines are intended to help ensure a smooth and stress-free booking experience by explaining the accepted payment methods, possible fees, and important operational, posting, and refund-related considerations when booking tours, transfers, rentals, and travel services through D’Palawan Travel and Tours (the “Agency”).
Palawan travel operates under real-world, on-ground conditions. Tours, boat operations, vehicle dispatch, permits, crews, meals, and equipment preparation are delivered primarily by independent local suppliers such as boat operators, drivers, guides, tour operators, and rental owners. As a practical and operational reality, most suppliers require cash or cash-equivalent settlement to mobilize resources, prepare equipment, secure permits, assign crews, and cover essential costs such as fuel, port and terminal fees, food provisions, and logistics.
Because of these realities, cash payment remains our required and preferred payment method. It is the simplest, fastest, and most reliable way to confirm bookings, reduce processing delays, and coordinate services efficiently. When possible, especially for time-sensitive arrangements or limited slots, we strongly encourage guests to settle in cash.
At the same time, we recognize that some guests may not yet be in Palawan, may be arranging payments remotely, or may need to secure their booking in advance. For this reason, digital and electronic payment methods are offered strictly as a convenience option. These methods may involve third-party processing, platform or bank charges, currency conversions, posting delays, withdrawal or encashment requirements, and intermediary deductions before supplier settlement can occur.
Sending any payment, deposit, or reservation amount shall be construed as confirmation that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Payment Guidelines together with our Refund Policy, Terms of Service, Terms of Use, Disclaimer, Disclosure, and all other policies of this site and D'Palawan Travel and Tours.
Clients are strongly advised to read this page together with the Payment Rules (Applies to All Payment Methods) section appearing below, which governs booking confirmation, verification, applicable fees, proof of payment requirements, exchange-rate handling, fraud prevention, and dispute or chargeback procedures.
Important Operational Reminder: Before sending any digital or electronic payment (including GCash, PayPal, bank transfer, QR payments, or money remittance), clients must contact us first to confirm the following:
- The exact payable amount for the selected tour, package, or service, taking into account possible platform or bank deductions;
- The availability, suitability, and validity of the chosen payment channel;
- The expected posting and verification timeline relevant to the service date.
Payments sent without prior confirmation may result in underpayment, misapplied funds, or delayed posting. While the Agency will always make reasonable efforts to assist, slot availability and service coordination cannot be guaranteed until the correct amount is received and verified in accordance with the Payment Rules.
